Letters From Satisfied Customers

Bill,
We are home.  The boys have decided to name her Lola.  I just want to thank you as she is a very loving bird, after calming down from the plane ride she has been fine.  She has already eaten and is starting to play with her toys.  I will send you pictures soon.  Talk to you soon.

Aimee was a customer who bought Squeaky weaned and already trained for her. Squeaky was trained to say "Hello" and fly to the poop-perch (T-Stand) to do his business, then fly back to her on command. When it warms up, Squeaky will be ready to free fly outdoors, following above in the trees as Aimee & her husband take a walk, and always coming back when called.

Well Squeaky had his first vet visit and he was a hit.  We were told multiple times that he was a very friendly, beautiful Blue & Gold Macaw.  The vet  wanted to take him home.  She loved him, which is no surprise.  They said he must be a happy bird because he squeaked and waved at everyone that passed by.  (Waving is the first trick we have taught him out of your book)  She even carried him around with her while waiting on his baseline labs to be drawn and reported.  Thanks again for the fabulous bird.

Thought you might like to have an update on Squeaky.  He is doing wonderful.  He is such a people bird. We have been able to take him outdoors with the break in weather and the neighborhood children love him.  They are so interested and have many questions.  He is very gentle with them and allows them to pet and hold him.  He is flying on command now but we do not trust him outdoors without the harness yet but we are working towards that.  He has said hello several times but prefers to talk when we are not in the room.  Squeaky has also learned to shake hands, give kisses and wave hello.  We are very happy with him and can't imagine life without him.  Will send pictures soon.

Margaret bought a 5 month old Red Lord Amazon and named it "Nigel" and also bought my Training Guide

Hi Bill,
Glad to hear from you.  I've been meaning to email you all week.  We've named the parrot "Nigel" and he's doing great!  Very healthy and happy.  I started clicker target training with him a few days ago, I am familiar with the clicker because I trained my dog with it.  Nigel caught on to the "click-treat" concept when he touched the target, but I didn't know where to take it from there, so I bought your book "Clicker Training Made Easy".  It's been very helpful!  It's definitely caught his attention.
Have a great week & I'll keep in touch with his progress.
Regards,
Margaret from Connecticut

I had a breakthrough with Nigel today. He let me scratch his head! He's starting to trust me. The patience is paying off. The clicker training is really effective and fun as well. I don't know why everyone doesn't do it!
Have a great day,
Margaret

Bonnie & her husband bought a 16 week old baby Blue & Gold Macaw that I weaned out for them, this letter was written hours after they brought him home, God Bless them all! You know you have a great bird when everyone else is impressed. I am so happy that my bird has a good home.

Yeah, when he came to the airport people couldn't keep their hands out of his cage, it took us forever to get him because all the airport people, were eyeballing him lol.... he is a very very friendly bird we are very pleased with him. We have 16 ft. ceilings so he has plenty of room for him to practice flying inside. We left his cage door open for him to get comfortable on his own so as soon as he figured out how to get out, he came out and it was not long before he went up in flight, he flew up and landed on one of our banisters, but we had to go up and get him because he didn't wanna come down.. i just think he needs more time to get acquainted.. when he did come down he got on the floor and got on his back and started playing with a marker that we had laying there.. it was adorable then he got up and got in my husbands lap and laid his head on his chest and just laid there while my husband petted him and it was like he didn't wanna move from that spot.

Hey Bill,

Sorry for the delay been busy with work and working with the babies -- Grethel has already learned to step up on my arm but those nails still hurt - LOL!! the vet wants to wait until they are weaned before he trims them - they love their fresh fruit. Don't worry they are truly loved and cared very well for - got them some wiffle balls and they love to play and throw them - Hansel has learned to fly and land on my shoulder - little talking and a lot of squawks --

I am glad that you keep in touch and see how they are doing and have started to read your book online in between work - and it does help a lot --- so far I am staying away from seeds and have found a raw nut place online for some nuts for them -

take care and thanks -

George from Tampa
